Open Position for Spiritual FOrmation DIrector

Liverpool First Presbyterian Church is looking to fill an open position for the role of Spiritual Formation Director (SFD.  

The ministry of Spiritual Formation is partnering with the Spirit of God and the intergenerational community of faith for each person’s growth into the image and likeness of God as disciples and friends of Jesus Christ. The context of this ministry is a culture that is both increasingly secularized and open to a variety of expressions of spirituality. 

The role of the Director (SFD) is to plan and engage the community with emotional, experiential, intellectual, and relational opportunities for spiritual development. Key to the engagement are recognizing the shifts in ministry toward: 

● intergenerational learning and influence

● empowering parents as spiritual teachers for their children in at-home component

● digital and virtual gatherings

 ● non-Sunday and non-building based gatherings

Spiritual formation occurs in relationships, Christian education, mission inside and outside of the church, and worship.

Pre-registration is required.  See the link on the homepage for registration.

Please try to arrive early. The side door will be the only open entrance. For those requiring the elevator, please contact the church in advance.

There will be no congregating inside the church. Those worshiping will be subject to a questionnaire (please see below) at the entrance, and have their temperature taken by a greeter. If someone is unable to meet the guidelines of the questionnaire, or has a fever of 99.5 degrees or more, they will be asked to leave. Face masks must be worn at all times.

The church bathrooms will be available.

Until further notice, child care will not be available for the Sunday service.

Ushers will guide all attendees to their seats. Social distancing guidelines have been implemented inside the church

The door will be closed and locked at start of service. Those arriving later will unfortunately be turned away and unable to attend.

The service will be paperless. No bulletins will be available, liturgy will be projected. Singing can only be done softly by congregation

An offering basket will be placed near door for no contact collection

At the close of the service, the ushers will guide people out, row-by-row, starting from the rear of the church forward. Those that wish to meet gather for conversation can do so in the parking lot, providing social distancing procedures are followed.
