Our Staff

  • Rev. Garrett Anderson, Pastor

I am a midwesterner from Illinois but have made New York my home. I studied Spirituality and Spiritual Direction in my MDiv program at Fuller Theological Seminary. Before attending seminary I worked as a campus staff worker with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at campuses in Illinois, Missouri, Kentucky, and New York.

I am married to Rev. Mary Anderson and we have one son, Sam. I roast my own coffee from Café Justo, play guitar, love to build things, run, kayak, read, and bird watch.

If you are interested in receiving my weekly "At LFPC" email with news and reflections on life at Liverpool First Presbyterian Church you can sign up here.

  • Heather Brown, Administrative Assistant

I am originally from Long Island. I went to college in upstate NY and this is where I have lived since 1994. I received my business and marketing degree and I went on to work in a chiropractic office, then in a real estate office where I received my real estate license.

My partner Colin and I now live in Liverpool with our two kids, Brynne and Tiernan “Ti”. In 2012 we moved back from Albany, where I was also a church secretary . In the evenings and and on the weekends, I also work at a local craft store.

  • Leigh Anne Herd, Co-Director of Spiritual Formation

I am originally from Michigan but settled in Liverpool in 1983 when I began my teaching career in Liverpool Central Schools teaching children in special and general education. My husband, Michael, and I have been members of LFPC for over 25 years and were blessed to raise our three children in the Christian faith with the help of our church family. I became co-director of Spiritual Formation in 2006 after serving on the Christian Education Committee for many years in varying roles. I love this church for the family it is, for its members’ commitment to being the hands, feet and heart of Jesus and for how willing all the members are to support the children in their spiritual walk from baptism to confirmation and beyond. It is with great joy that I am able to serve God as co-spiritual formation director of LFPC.

  • Tracie Folley, Co-Director of Spiritual Formation

I, Tracie Folley and my husband Erik of twenty one years are natives of CNY. We grew up spending time at camp as next door neighbors, but did not discover God’s plan for our life together, until we were in our twenties. I have a degree in Sociology and Health Sciences. I have worked in elder care and prior to my position at church volunteered in Christian Education. My free time is spent with family. Erik and I have two daughters, Madison (17) and Erin (12). They keep us busy with soccer and marching band. On special occasions you will find me making a special batch of cupcakes. I love spotting God amongst His creation and am an avid birder.

I have been an active Presbyterian since I was a child, you may say that it is a part of who I am. Since 2006 I have been blessed to work as Co-Director of Spiritual Formation. I love having the opportunity to walk alongside this community of faith as we worship, serve and learn together. We are constantly listening to the Holy Spirit’s direction for how we engage with each other and the community.

I wear an additional hat as a Friends in Faith Christian preschool teacher. The children are an incredible joy as they discover their unique gifts and grow socially and academically. I receive more blessings than I can count through teaching and serving.

  • David Rudari, Choir Director

I am an Associate Professor of Music and Director of Choral Ensembles at Onondaga Community College, Syracuse, New York. I joined the faculty at OCC in 2013 after serving for thirteen years at Bethany College, West Virginia. I have a Bachelor of Music in Education from the SUNY College at Fredonia, a Master of Music in Voice Performance from the University of Wyoming, and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Voice Performance from West Virginia University. Prior to Doctoral studies I served as the Senior High Vocal Music Director for the South Jefferson Central Schools in Adams, New York.

  • Steve Uhl, Organist/Pianist

  • Approximately 24 years ago in Massachusetts, I began working in elementary education with grades 1-4 as a teacher’s assistant and substitute teacher. Upon moving to New York and having my 3rd son, I decided I wanted to do something where I could be with him but still work; thus my preschool career began. While working at the preschool, I returned to college and received an Associate’s Degree with a focus in early childhood education. Additionally, I trained in Applied Behavioral Analysis, which is a program that works with children with Autism or related disorders. I have spent the last 17 years working at Friends in Faith. I feel very blessed to be able to combine my diverse education and become the new Director.
